The HORIZON ENSEMBLE is excited to announce our 2nd Call for Scores!

For this year’s call for scores, we are looking to select an ORCHESTRAL PIECE to program on our Bridges concert which is to take place on May 31st, 2026 at the Church of the Covenant in Boston, Massachusetts. This concert will feature music by Ruth Hertzman-Miller, Julian Gau, and Frank Bridge centered around bridges: the Harvard Bridge, bridges between people, and Frank Bridge. We are excited to have another voice to be a part of it!

Required Materials:

Full Score (Anonymized)

Submissions must be 8-15 minutes in length.

All submissions must adhere to the Instrumentation Requirements outlined in the document linked below.

Parts: please submit at least 1 wind part, 1 brass part, 1 percussion part, AND 1 string part (Anonymized)

  • In addition to a live performance and recording of the live performance, the Horizon Ensemble is able to offer a $150.00 travel stipend for the selected composer.
